Hey guys, 

our revue has been moved to 13th of Febuary and we also have a new location! We´ll be able to perform at another legendary Lahti theatre: Teatteri Vanha Juko and we´re super excited about this!

PipariRevyy NEW DATE!

 Due to the escalating covid-situation in the Lahti-area we at Lahti Burlesque felt obligated to postpone our biggest event to a (hopefully) safer time. The new date is

13.02.2021

No-one is more bummed about this than we are but it has to be safety first. We´ve sent mail to ticket holders! The burlesque workshops are also postponed to the same date! Please be healthy and safe!

Ensemblens medlemmar består av både pionjärer på området som varit med om att utveckla konstformen i Finland ända från början, samt av nyare innovatörer. De har uppträtt på både stora estrader samt i små källarbarer (och på en och annan ladugårdsvind också) runtom i Finland, Europa och USA.

Rock the Polen tiloissa Vesijärvenkadulla Lahdessa

Kahden tunnin työpaja jossa tutustutaan burleskin historiaan ja tehdään kehollisia harjoitteita pareittain ja ryhmässä. Työpajassa harjoitellaan mm. katsekontaktin ottamista, sensuellia liikkumista pilke silmäkulmassa (bump&grind, shimmy), löydetään oman kehon ihanimmat kohdat ja tehdään hauskoja treenejä puuhkien ja hanskojen kanssa. Ei sisällä riisumista! Pajassa saattaa tulla lämmin mutta varsinaisia hikitreenejä emme pidä.
Pukeutuminen: rento, mukava asu jossa mielellään näkee kehon muodot ja jossa on helppo liikkua. Korkokengät auttavat ryhdin ja liikkumisen kanssa mutta eivät ole pakollisia!
Muuta: voit halutessasi ottaa mukaan kirjoitusvälineet mutta tärkeintä on avoin mieli ja pilke silmäkulmassa! 

Kurssille mahtuu 12 ensimmäiseksi ilmoittautunutta jotta voimme pitää tarvittavat turvavälit salissa.

Abstinenssiklubi

    

Ensimmäinen Rubies-Klubit koskaan oli Abstinenssiklubi maaliskuussa 2015 - täyttämään tyhjää olotilaa, burleski-abstinenssia, hetkeä aiemmin vietettyjen burleskifestivaalien jälkeen. Syyskuussa 2020 burleski-abstinenssi on mahdollisesti jopa vielä konkreettisempi tilanne, koronakevään, poikkeustilojen ja -olojen jäljiltä, ja näin ollen olemme äärimmäisen riemuissamme kyetessämme jälleen kerran tarjoamaan teille ABSTINENSSIKLUBIN. Kyllä, sellaisen livetapahtuman, missä oikeat ihmiset ovat lavalla ja oikeat ihmiset istuvat metrien päässä (turvavälit toki yhä huomioiden!) katsomossa, muistatteko? Juuri sellaisen!

Illan aikana, kuten silloin ennenkin, nautitaan rennosta tunnelmasta, loistavasta burleski- ja dragviihteestä ja tanssijalkaa vipattavasta musiikista. Klubille on helppo tulla, mutta sieltä on hankalampaa lähteä!

Pääsitkö jo virtuaaliklubien ja olohuonekabareiden makuun, vai onko Helsinki liian kaukana? Fear not, ratkaisemme tämänkin striimaamalla klubin livelähetyksenä verkossa niille, jotka syystä tahi toisesta mieluummin nauttivat burleskinsa kotisohvalta käsin! Lisäinfoa streamista ja streamlippuja saat elokuun puolella, mutta lipun liveklubille voit napata vaikka heti!

Lahti Burlesque Presents: Improburleski!

On tullut aika avata ovet syksyyn ja sen kautta myös Lahti Burlesque´n tapahtumiin. Huomiottehan kuitenkin, että korona-tilanne on edelleen ns. 'päällä' ja olemme tarkkoina suositusten kanssa! Muistathan siis pitää turvavälejä ja pestä käsiä ja jääthän kotiin jos sinulla on kipeä olo. Olemme kuitenkin tuottaneet syksyn tapahtumia ja jos koronatilanne sallii, pärähtää Lahteen aika huikeat kattaukset esiintyjiä iloksenne!

Ensimmäisenä vuorossa on Ravintola Tirran Improburleski -ja kuten nimikin antaa ymmärtää illan esiintyjät eivät etukäteen voi valmistautua esityksiinsä vaan mm. musiikki arvotaan paikan päällä!

Tästä luultavasti seuraa mitä mainiointa settiä jossa yleisö pääsee kokemaan jotain todella uutta ja ainutkertaista - näitä numeroita ei siis tule toiste!

Lahti Burlesque opens our doors to the Autumn venues with the Improvisation club 21.08 at Tirra! Please note that we will take the covid-restrictions into consideration so please remember the hand hygiene and stay home if you´re feeling sick!

Our evening will be hosted in English by Lamey Crackhouse and we can guarantee you a never-before-seen set of wonderful burlesque acts since the artists won´t know ...hm, anything, beforehand :) The show kicks off at 9pm with stand up and both myself and Dolly Poupée will perform before the imrov-acts. Tickets are 15e!

Hey friends,

I hope you all are well. As you have seen these past weeks have been very important in the world and change is coming -finally, one might add. Here´s links to help you read up, follow and maybe (if you are able) to donate as well. There are many more but to get you started... Follow the black & POC people posting, give space, listen and learn. Support. 
I will do my best to be a good ally, I´ll  fail at times but please tell me about it. White priviledge is real and we need to educate ourselves. 
Also, happy Pride-month everyone <3 Keep being queer and to all my friends in the protests: be safe.

Oh and while I have your attettion..."Not being political" is a very privileged attitude. Also, burlesque is, and has always been, political. 

 
The University of Eastern Finland offers a course about anti-racism, even if you can´t take the course the material is free and availeable for all (just log in as a guest). The material is in Finnish.

April Fools Burlesque 2020

In a few weeks we´re ON again at Pikku Hanhi! Super excited to present the legendary burlesque QUEEN all the way from the US: Kitten de Ville! along side Miss Vinyl Envy, Wolfbang Glamadeus, Gigi Praline and the hostess with the mostess Lamey Crackhouse.

Tickets are 10e and will be on sale from the venue a week before D-day 20.03.2020!

Lahti Burlesque is now official!

Working together - double the strenght! Or at least, that´s what Dolly Poupée, Dick Tator and myself thought and made Lahti Burlesque official! All of us have been producing events and workshops in the Lahti area for a few years now and we came together for last November´s Piparirevyy- and it was great!

Thing is: we will still have our "own" clubs, Dolly has her nights at Tirra and we´re in Pikku Hanhi but we are looking forward to doing more brainstorming and work together to provide the city with even more varied and mind blowing performers and other cool stuff! And yes, we are thinking about doing Piparirevyy this year again...

2020!

Happy New Year, folks!

As the end of, and the beginning of, has been somewhat rough on me due to many different reasons (phneumonia being one of them) I´m looking at 2020 with hopeful eyes. I´ve set myself up for some new possibilities and hope (crossing fingers) that at least some of the plans and dreams I have will come through. Trying my best to silence the ever-so-pessimistic reality-checker in my head. If you always play safe, you never win anything new and exciting, huh?

I´m not making any resolutions and I´m pretty happy about the way I am at the moment- no need for "new me"-but I´ll try to polish and better whatever is here. This goes for my acts as well, at least two of my old ones will hopefully get a make over & polish in the coming year. I really recommend this instead of always hurrying in to making new ones, -sometimes dusting off works wonders.
