1. Burlesque from A to Z
This workshop is very recommended for beginners and more advance alike. In this workshop we will give you a short overview of the history of Burlesque, and we will focus on everything that makes Burlesque a unique art-form. We will explain things such as the importance of body language and facial expressions, creating a powerful stage persona, and what to do when things just go... wrong. We will use different exercises we have gathered through many years of attending the workshops of some of the best Burlesque performers, and help you build a real "toolbox" of resources you can use when building your own burlesque routines.
You will need: We will be using gloves on some of the exercises, so we recommend you bring your own long gloves if possible, but we will bring some extra for those of you who don't have. And an open mind!
2. Old-school kitty-cat!
This workshop is mostly recommended for those who don't have much experience with dancing, for those who have dancing experience but haven't tried burlesque yet, and specially for those who want to have a good (sweaty!) time learning the classic old-school burlesque moves and a fun kitty choreography. We will go through the basic burlesque moves: bumps, grinds, shimmies and shakes, and will learn how to combine dance and choreography in a burlesque number, and make them fit the music. We will also learn the importance of body posture, use of hands and framing.
You will need: comfortable clothes, get ready to SWEAT!
